Лечение рака шейки матки в Израиле

Cervical Cancer Treatment in IsraelTreatment of cervical cancer  in Israel is prescribed individually based on the results of the diagnosis and the individual wishes of the patient. Many of the patients who come to Israel for treatment choose the Herzliya Medical Center, a private Israeli clinic, which is deservedly considered one of the country’s leading medical centers. Cervical cancer (cervical cancer) is a cancer that originates in the cervix. A common cause of the disease is infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is sexually transmitted. Thus, one of the ways of prevention will be checking for HPV carriage and getting a vaccine that can protect against this type of virus.

Symptoms of Cervical Cancer

At the very beginning, cervical cancer is characterized by an asymptomatic course, the absence of any clinical manifestations. As the disease develops, the following ailments can appear, signaling a possible incidence of cervical cancer of the uterus:

  • Profuse vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor, in some cases accompanied by a bloody impurity;
  • Vaginal bleeding that occurs after coition or after the cessation of menstruation (after menopause);
  • Discomfort in the pelvic area;
  • The appearance of unpleasant, painful sensations during coitus With the development of the above symptoms, you should make an appointment with a gynecologist.

Diagnosis of cervical cancer

Early detection of uterine cancer has a positive effect on the success of therapy. Israeli doctors believe that screening for cervical cancer and precancerous changes should begin at the age of 21. Dad test. During the procedure, a smear is taken from the cervix, for further examination under a microscope for the presence of pathologically altered cells and dysplasia. A human papillomavirus DNA test allows you to identify carriers of HPV species that can trigger the development of cervical cancer. For the DNA test, cell samples are also taken from the cervical mucosa. In the case of clinical manifestations of the disease and the presence of pathologically altered cells during the screening, additional checks are required to make an accurate diagnosis.

Diagnosis of cervical cancer includes:

  • Colposcopy. During colposcopy, a gynecologist examines the vagina and cervix with an optical device that allows you to repeatedly increase the resulting image. If necessary, biopsy material is also taken during the procedure.
  • Conization of the cervix. The doctor removes a small cone-shaped area of the mucosa for subsequent histological examination and the detection of precancerous or cancerous changes.
  • When cervical cancer is detected, the patient undergoes additional diagnostic tests to determine the extent of the oncological process, such as radiography, CT, MRI, and PET. These tests are used to determine the extent of cancer outside the organ.
  • Additionally, cystoscopy  and proctoscopy may be required  .

Cervical Cancer Treatments in Israel

A treatment strategy for cervical cancer in Israel is being developed based on the stage of development, the presence of chronic diseases in the patient and her preferences. Therapy for cervical cancer is complex and usually includes: surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
A radical way to  treat cancer in Israel  is surgery, during which a complete or partial excision of the uterus (hysterectomy) is performed.
The use of hysterectomy in the initial stages of cervical cancer is a highly effective type of  surgical treatment for cervical cancer , which can prevent relapse of the disease.

Cervical Cancer Chemotherapy

For the treatment of cervical cancer, various combinations of chemotherapeutic drugs of cytostatics are usually used intravenously.
This type of drug is able to destroy and slow down the growth of pathologically altered cells.
According to accepted oncology treatment protocols,  chemotherapy is  often combined with radiotherapy, and this approach has established itself as highly effective.
A side effect of some of the chemotherapeutic drugs can be infertility and the development of early menopause.

The best private clinic in Herzliya Medical Center has created ideal conditions for the diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer.
